Malawi Agate – 33 mm | Fortification & Ghost Banding

A Ngabu specimen with a rare triangular fortification banding system — concentric triangles stack inward from deep burgundy-red outer bands through sard-red and carnelian-orange mid-zones to a warm amber-orange inner band, converging on a small blue-grey chalcedony centre. A lavender-white border frames the outer edge of the face.  Ghost banding is present in the outer zone. Directly sourced from Ngabu, Malawi and hand-polished by us in South Africa.

Each Malawi agate specimen is a natural stone formed over millions of years. These Ngabu candy agates are weathered from Jurassic basalts of the Karoo supergroup in southern Malawi's Nsanje district. This collector-grade polished agate may show minor surface marks or internal features as part of its natural formation and unique character. Any notable characteristics are clearly visible in the images.
