Lilangabi Agate — Discovered by Elemental Treasure

Lilangabi, "Flame" in SiSwati, is a unique deposit discovered in August 2025 by Kent Alcock — prospector and co-founder of Elemental Treasure. After months of research and following a hunch into remote, rugged terrain in Eswatini, we found a small valley with a wonderful surprise. The result is a locality unknown to the collector world until now. Elemental Treasure discovered it, named it, and remains the sole source.

Fire in Stone — A World-Class New Locality

The collection ranges from fiery, one-inch nodules to massive twelve-inch monsters. The Lilangabi deposit is unique in that it displays such a variety of agate features in one deposit. No two pieces are alike, and no other known southern African deposit produces material like this.

What Makes Lilangabi Exceptional

Lilangabi agate has an immediately recognisable fingerprint: exceptionally sharp, high-contrast fortification banding in colours spanning deep tangerine, rich ochre, warm amber, and delicate blush pink and lavender — punctuated by near-black band accents. Orbicular eye formations are common. Perimorphs, pseudomorphs, and stalactitic formations are abundant. Chromatism is found in virtually every specimen.

Water-line deposition features are profoundly diverse, alongside splendid feather-like dendritic inclusions.

Many nodules have open vugs with druzy smoky, amethyst, and clear quartz linings — often containing goethite needles and botryoidal calcite formations.

All specimens are cut and hand-polished in South Africa. Natural, with no treatments, dyes, or enhancements.
