Natural Hand-Polished Malawi Agate – 35 mm | Carnelian Inner Zone, Wavy Banding & Secondary Crystalline Zone

A warm and richly coloured single from the Ngabu deposit, with broad sweeping fortification bands in sard-red, pink and white framing a large open inner zone of glowing salmon-pink to carnelian-orange chalcedony. A striking near-black band runs across the lower portion of the face, creating a dramatic contrast with the warm upper zone, with blue-grey chalcedony accents at the lower edge. To the right, a distinct secondary inner zone — enclosed within its own diamond-shaped boundary — contains a small crystalline pocket. Ghost banding adds depth within the carnelian field. The stone retains a natural rough lower edge, exposing raw matrix. Directly sourced from Ngabu, Malawi and hand-polished by us in South Africa.

Each Malawi agate specimen is a natural stone formed over millions of years. These Ngabu candy agates are weathered from Jurassic basalts of the Karoo supergroup in southern Malawi’s Nsanje district. This collector-grade polished agate may show minor surface marks or internal features as part of its natural formation and unique character. Any notable characteristics are clearly visible in the images.
