A structurally distinctive single from the Ngabu deposit with a pronounced dome-shaped banding system — fine cream to pale amber bands arch upward in tight, regular semi-circles, their inner edges deeply scalloped where they frame a rich sard-red to deep burgundy inner zone. A narrow seam of bright micro-crystalline quartz runs horizontally across the top of the inner zone — an unusual structural detail clearly visible in the close-up. A cool blue-grey chalcedony zone anchors the lower portion of the face. Ghost banding adds translucent depth in the outer cream zone. The nodule retains a natural hole, a vesicular cavity from the original basalt host rock, visible in the back image. Directly sourced from Ngabu, Malawi and hand-polished by us in South Africa.

Each Malawi agate specimen is a natural stone formed over millions of years. These Ngabu candy agates are weathered from Jurassic basalts of the Karoo supergroup in southern Malawi’s Nsanje district. This collector-grade polished agate may show minor surface marks or internal features as part of its natural formation and unique character. Any notable characteristics are clearly visible in the images.
You will receive the exact item shown in the photos. All photographs are captured in natural light without filters or digital enhancement to show the true character of the stone.
Please take note of the measurements and view all photos carefully before purchasing.
