Lilangabi agates are sourced from the Lebombo Mountain range in Eswatini, formed millions of years ago during the break-up of Gondwanaland. Recently discovered and new to the world of agates, this is our first public release of small rough Lilangabi nodules. These nodules have a distinct scalloped shell shape and display a variety of colours and unusual features — an earthy palette of electric orange, every shade of yellow, olive and warm brown, along with waterline features, fortification banding, plumes, chromatism, perimorphs and pseudomorphs. They are named Lilangabi, which translates to "flame" in siSwati — a fitting name for their fiery appeal.
Batches average 5–6 nodules per kilogram, with each stone ranging approximately 5–12 cm. The agate is dense, relatively fracture-free and takes an excellent polish.
Each 1 kg lot is carefully hand-selected from small, curated batches — we sort to remove poor-quality material and ensure you receive a representative mix of the deposit's best natural range.
